Secretariat
The GBEP Secretariat, hosted at FAO Headquarters in Rome, is the principal coordinator of the Partnership's communications and activities. The Secretariat is mainly supported by Italy and receives additional support, past and present, from Brazil, Germany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, the United States, and UN FAO.

| Maria Michela Morese Secretariat Manager Maria Michela Morese is the Manager of the GBEP Secretariat which is based at FAO Headquarters in Rome. She worked on the establishment of the Partnership since 2005. She is responsible for the overall GBEP project implementation as well as for the development of its programme of work. Previously she worked for six years for the Government of Italy as negotiator in various international environmental processes. Michela holds a degree in Political Science-International Relations and a post graduate certificate in International Protection of Fundamental Human Rights from La Sapienza University in Rome, as well as a Master in Environmental Governance from La Tuscia University in Viterbo. She is currently a PhD candidate at La Tuscia University. Michela speaks Italian, English, French and some Spanish. michela.morese@fao.org

Jonathan Reeves Programme Officer Jonathan Reeves was appointed Programme Officer of the GBEP Secretariat in 2008 and he is responsible for coordinating the activities of the Task Force on Sustainability and contributing to the overall GBEP project implementation. Before joining GBEP, Jonathan worked in the UK Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra). He holds a Master’s degree in physics from Oxford University and a PhD in theoretical physics from Imperial College, London. jonathan.reeves@fao.org

| Marco Colangeli Programme Adviser Mr. Colangeli joined the GBEP Secretariat in 2012. He is Programme Adviser assisting the GBEP Secretariat in the overall project implementation, with particular focus on activities related to the technical Task Forces and Working Group. marco.colangeli@fao.org

| Giovanna Pesci Communication and Events Adviser Ms Pesci is responsible for Communication and Events Management of the GBEP since 2008. She completed a degree in Political Science at La Sapienza University and a Masters course in Development Economics at the Tor Vergata University. giovanna.pesci@fao.org

| Martin Barros Administrative Assistant Mr. Barros, an Argentinian-Italian citizen, joined GBEP in 2012 and is responsible for general administration. Before joining GBEP, he worked in the Conference Recruitment team of the Human Resources Division of FAO since 2010. martin.barros@fao.org |
