The FAO and the United Nations have called for a halt in the trend towards using agricultural products to make biofuel. The FAO, in its latest report, also notes the widespread concern about spiralling food costs. Those who have entered the business of producing organic fuels are aiming to satisfy 20% of world demand by 2030 and as much as 30-40% in 2060. This is the outlook given by the chairman of the Global Bioenergy Partnership (GBEP), Corrado Clini, during the presentation of the report, “A Review of the Current State of Bioenergy Development in G8 +5 Countries.”
