According to Systèmes Solaires-Le Journal des Énergies Renouvelables, EU biofuel consumption in the 25 member states reached 5.38 million tons of oil. Germany was the largest European Biofuel consumer last year with a  consumption estimate of 2.8 million tons of biodiesel.
