A successful 6th Bioenergy week

The 6th Bioenergy Week of the Global Bioenergy Partnership (GBEP) was held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from 16 ro 18 October 2018. Approximately 180 experts participated in the first day of the event that was opened by H. E. Luis Miguel Etchevehere, Minister of Agroindustry of Argentina; Mr Alejandro Sruoga, Secretary of state at the Ministry of Energy od Argentina; Mr Francisco Yofre, OiC of FAO Argentina; and Mr Miguel Gutierrez, CEO of YPF. This Bioenergy Week successfully enhanced learning from positive experiences on sustainable production and use of bioenergy from Latin American and other regions of the world, with a view to support the design and implementation of bioenergy policies in Latin America. This event also provided the opportunity to continue a dialogue with private sector and other stakeholders on ways to improve mutual cooperation towards a more sustainable production and use of bioenergy. On the 18th October, the Bioenergy week organized a field visit to the Y-TEC research center, a public-private research center built 2 years ago with 50 ml usd investment.
