3rd Dialogue on Forest Landscape Restoration (FLR) and Bioenergy. Focus on key success factors in Africa. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) through the Global Bioenergy Partnership (GBEP), the Forest and Farm Facility (FFF) and the FAO Forestry Department, in collaboration with GIZ on behalf of the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), IEA Bioenergy, IRENA and CIFOR will host, at the forthcoming GLF in Accra (Ghana), an Interactive Session on Forest Landscape Restoration and Bioenergy. In this Session major International Agencies will dialogue together, with indigenous people and local stakeholders in a view to share experiences, facilitate the exchange of information and data, raise awareness on key success factors and best practices that determine, in SSA, a positive contribution of Sustainable Wood Energy to FLR – and vice versa. In particular, the event will give the opportunity to share knowledge on the various multifaceted approaches adopted to improve sustainable local production and use of wood energy, to develop sound planning for sustainable landscapes and rural development, as means to meet both the SDGs, UNCCD, the CBD and the Paris Climate Agreements and other related international goals such as the Bonn Challenge, the AFR100 and the NYDF.
