The "roadmap" that has come out of the talks at the Bali Climate Change Conference  in December starts a further two-year process of negotiations designed to agree a new set of emissions targets to replace those in the Kyoto Protocol expiring in 2012. Bioenergies not only can play a significant role in cutting greenhouse gas emissions, but can also represent an opportunity to facilitate “sustainable” investments of developed countries in developing economies.
