A sustainable biofuels consensus

A group of 17 experts gathered in late March in the Rockefeller Foundation’s study and conference centre in Bellagio, Italy to analyse the possibility of fostering free global trade in biofuels. They produced a “Sustainable Biofuels Consensus”, including eight key recommendations, spelling out how trade could encourage the sustainable production and use of bioenergy and stimulate investment needed in many impoverished countries.
