On June 18th, the Steering Committee of the Global Bioenergy Partnership (GBEP)  met in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and agreed to form a sustainability taskforce that will develop global criteria and indicators to contribute to the sustainability of bioenergy.The GBEP sustainability taskforce will work with a wide range of stakeholders to develop a set of science-based criteria and indicators to enable discussions of biofuels sustainability.Corrado Clini, Director General of the Ministry for the Environment, Land and Sea of Italy has been confirmed as Chair of the partnership and the co chairmanship has been assigned to Andre’ Correa do Lago, Director of the Department of Energy in the Ministry of External Relations of Brazil.
