GBEP agenda for 2014


GBEP calendar of activities and events for 2014:

•    5 to 9 May 2014 – Maputo (Mozambique): Second Bioenergy Week
In the framework of the Activity Group 3 of the GBEP Working Group on Capacity Building activities, Mozambique will host the second Bioenergy Week. Following the one held in Brazil in March 2013, the event will focus on food security, family farming integration and wood energy development, with the organization of sessions dedicated to strengthen the dialogue with private sector and investment banks. Scientists and officials from all over the world will be invited with a view to have the opportunity to learn from positive experiences in the sustainable production and use of bioenergy that could guide the design and implementation of bioenergy policies in the interested countries.

•    Workshop on “How to interpret and use maps in light of the GBEP sustainability indicators"”
In the Framework of the Activity Group 5 “The Global Renewable Energy Atlas - Bioenergy Component” of the GBEP Working Group on Capacity Building, this workshop will bring together experts in the mapping and sustainability domains. The purpose of the workshop is to discuss towards the development of a document aimed to guide users of the Global Bioenergy Atlas on how to consider GBEP sustainability indicators in the context of bioenergy resource mapping

•    November/December 2014 - Rome (Italy): 17^th GBEP Steering Committee and 6^th GBEP Working Group on Capacity Building
